When we pray for something and God doesn’t answer, we may feel like he may not care. At times we may go ahead to lose our faith and other times we just persist like the widow in the parable of the widow and the judge.
Here are the seven reasons why God has not yet answered your prayers.
1. Asking for the wrong reasons.
How many times have we asked God for something just because we want to have what others have.
I have.
The bible says that God is the owner of all silver and Gold in the earth. After all he did create it. He knows what we need at what time and he will not give you something you asked for because your friend or cousin has it too.
We need to understand that we all have different journeys and God blesses us when the timing is right. Next time you ask for something ask for the right reason and you may be surprised.
When you see your friends having their prayers answered, don’t be jealous. Be thankful that God is in the vicinity and keep praying.
2.We want Want it. We don’t need it.
I‘m a victim of this too. Our hearts desires so many things, cars, big houses, partners, friends and money(everyone desires it).
We may want all this but God will at times not grant us our desires because he knows we do not need them at the moment.
The things we want are things we can live without. The things we need are things we cannot survive without.
He knows this and he provides our needs without fail. God understands some provisions are vital and he will definitely provide for us at our time if need.
Seek the Kingdom of God first and everything else shall follow.
However, God is a good God and more than anything his joy is when we, His children are happy.
Draw closer to Him and He will Draw closer to you. He will grant the desires of your heart like he did for David, Abraham, Jacob, Esther and so many others in the bible.
3. Ungratefulness.
A simple thank you shows appreciation and gratefulness when God answers our prayer. Human is to err, but this does not give us the right not to thank God for His providence. We remembered to ask and so its only fair to remember a simple thank you.
Next time your prayer is answered, be grateful because God granted you your desires.
Make a list of the things you are grateful for every morning and you will be surprised just how blessed you are.
Be grateful, always.
4.Child, it’s not yet time.
It’s unrealistic to want a car when your 10. But it’s realistic to want a partner when your 25. God may choose not to answer both prayers, even if one of them is realistic. Why? It’s just not the right time child of God.
You want it so bad but He tells you its not yet time to grant you that desire.
God’s timing is always the best!
4. To strengthen your Faith.
Losing faith in times of challenges and suffering is something most if not all christians experience.
When pain overpowers us, we lose our Faith even in the one who created us. We let our hearts harden and pain is what drives us.
He may hold back from answering our prayers to help strengthen our faith. At times, we can only discover God’s grace at the lowest points in our life when everything else in our lives is not working out. It’s at this time when we rekindle the faith, get to see God’s love in a new light and put our trust wholly unto him.
In the end, we draw nearer to God and our prayers are answered.
6. Thick Skin
Eczema has been present in my life for as long as I can remember. It left me struggling with low self-esteem, social anxiety and a generally negative outlook in life. I prayed, not once or twice but almost every hour I was awake. I kept asking God why he could not just take away the eczema with a flick of his fingers. I cried and let myself wallow in pain, lose my confidence and joy for months.
While surfing the internet, I came across a video of teens facing various physic challenges from no limbs, and lost sight/hearing and yet they were happy and smiling.
It hit me hard when I realised how ungrateful I had become. I had narrowed all the positive things in my life into this one challenge called Eczema. The journey began.
The eczema is still there. It’s a battle regaining my esteem, confidence and light but God is helping me through it. I finally found medication that works and I’m comfortable in my scars -caused by the eczema patches.
It took a long time but I’m almost there, definitely stronger, thicker skin and the world looks brighter than it ever has.
7. Come back home.
Maybe you just have to find the way back home- to the arms of God and underneath his wings. His arms are wide open waiting, waiting patiently for you to come back home. Where Grace and mercy overflows no matter the mistakes of your past.
A fountain so full and rich, all silver, gold and peace at His disposal ready to fill your quest.
For Jesus Christ died that you may be reedemed in His grace. In Him there is Joy, peace and eternal life. (I believe this are the greatest prayers God can ever grant.)
